What Simply Choose does

Swipe to a decision, every time

Partners swipe a short, pre-filtered deck of options; an outright match, a least-misery fallback, or a consensual random spin always ends the session.

Zero-friction pairing

Invite a partner by link, code or QR, with no account creation needed. Pass-and-play works on a single device too.

One app for every "what shall we do"

Dinner in, dining out, what to watch, date night and activities, not another single-purpose picker.

A curated catalogue

Over 1,000 dish cards and 630 real recipes, with dietary tags and a metric/imperial toggle on ingredients.

Tonight's Pick

A daily algorithmic default on the home tab for the nights neither partner wants to choose.

Couple memory

Every decision (the recipe, the film, the plan) is saved into a shared history of streaks and taste-compatibility insights.

Ends the nightly stalemate, on purpose

Simply Choose is a native iOS app built to settle the evening's "what shall we have?" without a back-and-forth negotiation. Both partners swipe through a short, pre-filtered deck: like, not tonight, maybe, or one of two scarce "hard veto" swipes each. The app guarantees a decision every time. An outright match ends the session immediately; if nobody agrees, it falls back to a least-misery top pick, then a consensual random spin between the finalists. It covers more than dinner, too: dining out, what to watch, date-night plans and activities all sit under the same swipe mechanic.

Built for zero friction

Pairing happens by link, code or QR, with no account-creation screen at any point. Identity runs through Apple Game Center, so there's nothing to sign up for and nothing to remember. Pass-and-play works on a single device for couples who'd rather not juggle two phones. Every completed session becomes a payoff (a recipe, a place to watch, a plan) and is journalled into shared couple history and streaks. The curated catalogue behind it holds more than 1,000 dish cards and 630 real recipes.

A real-time platform underneath a simple game

The current build is a native SwiftUI app on iOS 26's Liquid Glass design system. It is backed by an ASP.NET Core (.NET 9) API with a clean Domain/Application/Infrastructure layering, DynamoDB for game state, and a dependency-free SignalR client for live swipe sessions with partner presence. RevenueCat handles the optional Couple Premium subscription, with server-authoritative entitlement checks rather than client-side trust. A home-screen widget and evening notification prompts bring couples back without notification spam.

Where it stands today

Simply Choose is in active, pre-release development. There's no public App Store listing yet, but a substantial slice of the product already works end to end. Game Center authentication, couple pairing, real-time swipe sessions, Tonight's Pick, the couple-history "Us" tab, the home-screen widget, evening prompts and the Premium paywall are all wired up against a working backend. The project began life as a Next.js web prototype that proved the core swipe-and-match mechanic before the team rebuilt it natively for the real thing.
